BARKHAM Athletic moved to the top of the Premier Division table with a hard fought 3-1 win over YMCA Newbury.

Dom Howard netted a brace and Matt Bacon was also on target as Barkham moved two points clear at the summit.

Norreys ran out convincing winners as they beat West Reading 4-0.

A brace on his debut from Ben Carter helped Norreys on their way, while a fine individual goal from Jacob Potter and a long-range strike from Adam Toft saw Norreys earn their second win of the season.

Tilehurst Albion have set the pace for the majority of the season, but suffered defeat against Beacon as the visitors won 5-3 in an entertaining game.

Tilehurst found themselves 3-0 down at half-time, but despite a slight fightback, they were defeated by an impressive Beacon side.

Charlie Baines, Chris Bowyer and Joel Penson were on target for Albion, while Tim Cureton, Joel Evans, Jon Duffy, Dan Bolt and Tom Landreth-Smith provided Beacon with an all-important win.

Wycliffe Wanderers remain without a win this season as they were defeated 4-2 by Brookside St Laurence.

Goals from Kieran Stubbs, Ben Blackedge and a brace from Sam Carlisle were enough for Brookside, with Neal Healy and Rob Holmes replying for the beaten side.

Greyfriars recovered from a disappointing defeat the previous weekend, as they narrowly edged out Wycliffe United 1-0.

Matthew Debney scored the only goal of the game as Louie Burton’s side moved to within three points of the top.
