READING AC Under 20s men finished runners-up in the South of England Cross Country Relay Championships at Wormwood Scrubs.

In their 3x3km race, Chey Blatchford-Kemp ran 10min 28secs, Tom Nike followed with 10.54. and Eddie Steveni ended with 10.12 to gain Reading the silver medals.

The U13 girls collected fourth place thanks to good runs from Evie Elson (7.54), Holly Haldane (7.53) and Ella Newman (7.45) in their 3x2km race, while the B team came 15th thanks to Lydia Godfrey (8.13), Charlotte Ashby (8.35) and Lola Batt (8.28).

The C team – made up of Emma Yeadon (8.56), Lizzie Ryan (8.42) and Zoe Rennie (8.44) – ended 25th.

In the U13 boys’ race, Reading claimed fifth place with Aidan Marshall (7.16), Samuel Lindsey-Halls (7.30) and Edward Lewis (7.24) running well, while the B team ended 19th thanks to Dylan Madden (8.00), George Urwin-Mann (7.56) and Nick Haldane (8.10).

For an incomplete C team, Elliott McCarthy ran 8.39 on the opening leg and Rio Scott-Smith’s 9.55 left Reading in 33rd at the end of the second stage.

Over the same 3x2km course, the U15 boys came ninth. Laurie Baker (7.08), Ollie Craggs (6.52) and Aryan Gupta (7.09) made up the team, while Bradley West (7.56) and Daniel Cleare (7.42) made up an incomplete B team.

Katie Barnes (8.18), Talia Painting (8.09) and Scarlet Taplin (8.07) secured 17th for the U15 girls, with the B team of debutant Mia Waldmann (7.54), Hollie Cramner (10.24) and Georgina Ashby (10.02) claiming 28th.

In the 3x3km U17 boys’ race, the Reading team of Joseph Mott (11.19), Ben Rollings (10.52) and Mattie Raynor (11.05) came ninth, while Tom Rickards (10.58) and Olly Moor (11.31) ran well for the B team.

The U17 girls also came ninth on the back of good runs from Hermione Walker (8.37), Renee Whalley (8.41) and Abi Hancock (8.54) in their 3x2.5km contest, with the B team – Alannah Chadwick (9.01), Oonagh O’Driscoll (9.36) and Georgia Whalley (8.40) – ending 15th
