TWO TOM Ryan strikes and a goal from substitute Chris Dry proved enough for Wokingham & Emmbrook Reserves as they beat Woodley United Royals 3-0 in the Premier Division, writes Richard Ashton.

Champions Reading YMCA remain unbeaten after trouncing Burghfield FC 6-1, Billy Margetts with the consolation for the visitors, while Marlow United also continued their excellent start with a 5-2 triumph at Woodcote Stoke Row.

Chris Hurst put the visitors in front on 12 minutes, and the same player doubled the advantage from the penalty spot midway through the first half – his sixth successful spot-kick from six attempts this season.

Marlow moved 3-0 up in controversial fashion after the assistant referee signalled off-side, only to reverse his decision before Nile O’Meally-Newell tapped home from close range with the home defenders having switched off.

Adam Parsons grabbed the visitors’ fourth just before the hour mark, but WSR rallied and halved the deficit after a pair of wicked free-kicks from player-manager Sam Tucker were both bundled home by Ed Gadd.

Any hopes of a comeback were dashed shortly after, though, with Josh Fox rifling a long-range effort home to seal the three points for the away side.

Gary Ashton scored for Wraysbury Village in their 1-1 draw at home to Wrightchoice & Unity CSA, while the spoils were also shared between Westwood United and Richings Park, the two sides drawing 0-0.

Berks County remain bottom after losing 2-1 to Cookham Dean.

Division One pacesetters Newbury made it five wins from five as they eased past Hurst 3-0, Russell Benham bagging a brace and Terry Patton also on target.

A James Payne double proved decisive in helping Finchampstead beat Rotherfield United 3-0, while Eldon Celtic battled to a 1-0 success at home to Reading YMCA Rapids and Cookham Dean Reserves squeezed past White Eagles 2-1.

Aqeel Butt scored a brilliant hat-trick for second-placed FC Imaan Lions as they crushed Westwood United Reserves 5-0, substitutes George Dallarda and Muhhamed Ul Haq completing the rout.

Josh Miller had a day to remember for Division Two highflyers Woodcote Stoke Row Reserves as he scored five times in their 6-0 romp at AFC Corinthians, replacement Jamie Newport adding the other goal.

Phil Nugent, Morgan Harrison and Jake Braim got the goals as Marlow United Reserves overcame Richings Park Reserves 3-1, while George O’Brien scored late on to earn Goring United a point from their 1-1 home draw with Harchester Hawks.

Table-topping Mortimer Reserves were gifted three points as Wargrave were unable to raise a side for their fixture.

In Division Three, Berks County Reserves went goal crazy as they annihilated Goring United Reserves 9-1.

Matt Warner notched a superb hat-trick while Daniel Moss scored twice and Mihai Lihat, Callum Shields, Andrew Hodgkins and Alex Beeson also found the back of the net for the Swords.

Substitute Charlie Dodd replied with the visitors’ consolation.

Charlie Hill bagged a brace and Bhurinder Bhangoo and Simon Murtagh were also on target in Taplow United A’s 4-0 triumph at Twyford & Ruscombe, while Woodley United A won 3-2 at home to Maidenhead Town A.

Harchester Hawks Development edged out Henley Town Development 3-2 in Division Four.

Reading City U23 crashed out of the Berks & Bucks Senior Trophy after losing 2-0 at Didcot Town Development.

In the Junior Cup, goals from Ashley Lamb and Tim Grenham were not enough for Hurst Reserves in their 3-2 reverse at Cintra Park Rovers, while Maidenhead Town Reserves progressed as Thames Valley United conceded their tie.

Marius Pilca and Nick Ellis were among the goals as Hambleden advanced following a tense 3-2 victory at home to Bedgrove United.

Westwood United Development went through with a straight-forward 4-1 success at Reading YMCA Rockets, but AFC Corinthians A were dumped out 3-1 by Milton United Reserves.

Langley knocked out Berks County Reserves 2-1, Datchet Village cruised past Saint Peters Iver 5-0, and Taplow United Reserves were battered 9-1 by Britwell.
