THERE were two affiliated clubs out on RDAA waters last weekend with one on the Kennet and the other on the Thames, writes Alan Hughes.

Reading Fishing Club were on the Beat Five stretch of the Kennet at Berkeley Avenue roadbridge, where Joe Baker took the honours with 4lbs 14ozs of roach.

Second place went to Dave Bosher who took 3lbs 8ozs of mainly perch to the scales and George Callaghan completed the trio with 1lb 14ozs.

On the Thames, Prestcold A.C. travelled up to Witney to fish the Northmoor stretch.

Roy Green took top spot with 12lbs 2ozs of mainly roach, fishing stick float with red maggot on the hook.

In second place was Geoff Eley using similar techniques to take 7lbs 2ozs to the scales and completing the top three was Mark Steadman, again using the same techniques as he weighed in 5lbs 3ozs.

Tilehurst Royal British Legion used their stretch of the Thames at Hardwicke for their match.

Tony Tibble (above) secured the honours with 10lbs 8ozs of roach. Simon Couling took the runner-up spot with 9lbs 10ozs again of nearly all roach.

Dave Bosher had an exceptional day on the Prom in Reading. He amassed 17lbs 12ozs of all perch during the Tuesday Club’s match.

John Berry was the runner-up with 10lbs 10ozs of roach and Terry Littlewood claimed third spot with 7lbs 6ozs.
