IT was a day to forget for Reading Men on Saturday, as they crashed 5-0 at unbeaten Holcombe after a poor performance.
Despite an encouraging start, the Blues fell behind to a smart finish from Nick Bandurak after 15 minutes.
And it was the same player who doubled his side's lead just before half-time from a penalty stroke.
Reading fell further behind in the 42nd minute to a Dan Webster goal following a penalty corner and two minutes later Harry Truz extended the home side's lead to 4-0 with Tom O'Keefe adding a fifth.
Reading host East Grinstead at Sonning Lane on Saturday evening (6.30pm).
Reading Women lost 3-0 to Stourport.
They were sent reeling by a double blow just after the half-hour with Sarah Parkinson-Mills and Lorna Mackenzie scoring in the space of three minutes, both from penalty corners.
Jo Ellis' side were never able to recover and conceded a third goal in the 49th minute, scored by Lottie Atkinson.
