KINGFISHER A went straight to the top of Division One with an opening 10-0 win over clubmates Kingfisher D, Hari Gehlot, Sagar Sawant and Krasmier Ivanov all with maximums.

Kingfisher B took close order in second place after winning 8-2 against Sonning Common & Peppard A, Martin Adams and new signing Artur Morar with trebles, while Jason Roberts and Joe Barraclough managed wins over Richard Rosinski.

New team Kennet Valley Free Church started well with a 7-3 victory over Milestone A, Mingshen Lin and Julian Telford with maximums.

Andy Wang and Nigel Maltby were both in top form as Sonning Common & Peppard B started brightly with a 7-3 win against Kingfisher C, the former winning all three while Nigel picked up a good double, as did Kingfisher’s Phil Mead.

Sonning Common & Peppard C also began with a win as they beat promoted Curzon Club A 6-4, Matt Stone and Niall McGrane with two wins apiece.

Tidmarsh B won their opening derby encounter against Tidmarsh A 6-4, Tony Baker’s treble ably assisted by a double from Simon Barter, plus the doubles securing the win. Steve Murgatroyd claimed two victories on his Tidmarsh A debut, but just lost to Baker 5-11 5-11 11-6 11-7 9-11.

Milestone/Saiyan Brothers B are top of Division Two after Graham Mendick’s treble, two from Vidhu Ravinath and a Jingshun Huang single helped them edge a 6-4 win over promoted Springfield A.

Sonning Common & Peppard D managed a 5-5 draw at Curzon Club B, Charlotte Binley getting a maximum for Curzon, while Pradeep Desh recorded a fine treble as Our Lady of Peace C beat their OLOP A 7-3.

Roger Pritchard starred with an impressive maximum as Kingfisher F beat Our Lady of Peace B 6-4.

In Division Three, Springfield C stormed to a 10-0 win against Sonning Common & Peppard E with Jason King, Chris Taylor and Adrian Wegrzynowski all obtaining trebles.

At Our Lady of Peace D, Ian Wu was the star for Tidmarsh C by hitting a three-straight maximum to help his side obtain an 8-2 win, while Reading FC A maintained their unbeaten start with a good 6-4 win at Springfield B with Tony Alleyne winning three and Wayne Alleyne picking up a double.

Curzon Club C won 8-2 at Kingfisher H thanks to Nick Lean and Geoff Johnson trebles.

Jim Brent played in his first match after a hip operation and managed one win.

Nils Wedi was in good form for Kingfisher G by winning all three to help towards a 6–4 win over Tidmarsh D.

In Division Four, Tilehurst Methodists C won 7-3 at Sonning Common & Peppard G, thanks to a maximum from Rob James, a double from Roy Hull and a single from Andy Stone, who beat fellow newb boy Arran Reeve in a close five-game set.

Anthony Reeve’s double and a single from Marko Madzar earning SC&P their three points.

Newcomers Kennet Valley Free Church B had a torrid start, losing their first match 10-0, Milestone C taking all the points courtesy of trebles from Carl Edlind, Ollie Bonser and John Evans.

Although Gill Bennett, Derek Crombie and Meriel Low each won one set, in the process earning three points for Kingfisher I, Reading FC B won the match 7-3 thanks to trebles from Harry Edwards and Derek Anderson.

Sonning Common & Peppard F defeated Sonning Sports C 9-1, Mike Casserley, Gerry Bacon and Julian James all recording maximums, Michael Byrne and Mo Cole earning Sonning Sports a point by winning the doubles.

Our Lady of Peace E beat Springfield D 9-1 thanks to maximums from Jan Polnik and Chris Bunn, with Andrew Adair missing out on his treble after losing to Alan Goold.

Springfield E narrowly defeated Tidmarsh E 6-4 thanks to a maximum from Paul Martin and a double from Marcello Caramma, Tidmarsh earning their points courtesy of a double from Pete Sinclair and singles from Steve Andrews and Mike Bundy.

In week two, a Joe Bull treble and an Edwards double helped Reading FC B to a 6-4 win over Sonning Common & Peppard G, Simon Blake and David Pearson picking up singles for SC&P, with Anthony Reeve supplying a double.

John Harland’s treble, a double for Roger Stevens and a single for Steve Andrews earned Tidmarsh E a 6-4 win over Our Lady of Peace E, for whom Mariusz Paluszkiewicz scored a single and Jan Polnik a double.

Despite a treble from Carl Edlind, Milestone C lost 6-4 to visitors Springfield E, who won thanks to a single from Julian Lancaster and doubles from both Marcello Caramma and Colin Jones, Tony Hayden earning Milestone a further point courtesy of his one win.

Singles for both Steve Knott and Julian James meant that by winning the final set, Casserley both recorded his treble and helped visitors Sonning Common & Peppard F tie their match with Springfield D 5-5, Springfield earning their points thanks to a double from Chris Speight and singles from both Margaret Kellermann-Thornton and Tom Berryman.

A maximum from Miguel Caballero and a double from Meriel Low helped Kingfisher I to a 6-4 win over Sonning Sports C, for whom John Scott recorded a double, with Michael Byrne and Stephen Edwards also winning one each.

Tilehurst Methodists C beat Kennet Valley Free Church B 8-2, thanks to a treble from Steve Wood along with doubles from Roy Hull and Rob James, who were both beaten by Steve Christelow.
