BRACKNELL’S Luther Clay will be searching for his 10th professional victory when he takes on Yahya Tlaouziti at Bracknell Leisure Centre next week.

The 22-year-old welterweight will step out in front of his hometown fans once again when he faces Frenchman Tlaouziti (13-3-3) on the night of September 29.

Clay did not disappoint in his last fight at the venue in July when he dominated the seasoned Renald Garrido with a unanimous decision victory over eight rounds in the entertaining Battle of Bracknell.

The same night also saw Jonny Phillips win a close fight with Jamie Speight via decision and local favourites, Naylor Ball, George Lamport, Billy Allington and Irishman Rohan Date all participated on the card.

However, Clay, dubbed ‘The Black Panther’ now faces arguably his toughest fight yet against Tlaouziti who has never been stopped in 19 professional fights.

But the Bracknell boxer knows he must overcome such hurdles if he is to secure a title shot before the end of the year.

Promoter Al Siesta spoke about the upcoming show, his plans for Clay and the future of boxing in Bracknell.

“The show will be a carnival of boxing for fight fans,” he declared. “I plan to put on more competitive 50/50 fights for those attending.

“It’s going to be another great night of boxing in Bracknell. It’s a town I have huge plans for and envisage promoting many more great nights there as we continue our philosophy of well-matched bouts throughout our shows.”

He added: “I would like to have Luther fighting for a title by the end of the year, in Bracknell. He’s improving in every fight, I’m very optimistic about his future.”

The undercard will be stacked with more local talent including George Lamport, Sam Horsfall, Aaron Collins, Nick Webb, Naylor Ball, Derek Renfrew, Andre Grant and Irishman Rohan Patrick who will be moving down to welterweight.
