MORTIMER West End missed out on securing promotion to the Berkshire, Chilterns and Mid Bucks Championship after falling to a 111-run defeat against Ballinger Waggoners in their play-off game.
Marcus Tingey (97no) and Fred Thompson (58) helped Waggoners post 269-5 in their 45 overs, and West End succumbed to Ian Davies (6-49) as they crashed to 158 all out in reply.
In Division One of the Berkshire League, West Reading 2nds ended on a high by beating Earley by three wickets.
Mohammed Asif took 5-37 as the visitors were dismissed for 174, and skipper Usman Ali made 50 to help Wests reach 175-7 in the 40th over.
Knowl Hill (144-9) beat Wokingham 6ths (142-7) in Division Two, while West Reading 3rds (238-6) beat Welford Park 2nds (237-8) by four wickets.
Will Herrington hit 83 off 51 balls for Park, but Khaled Khan (4-36) and Fahad Raja (64) did the job for Wests.
Mahad Ahmed (5-19) and Fasul Nufail (89) led West Reading 4ths (156-3) to a seven-wicket win against Crowthorne & Crown Wood 3rds (152-7) in Division Three, while Earley 2nds (159-7) ended their season in style with a three-wicket success against Binfield 3rds (157-8).
