READING FC teenager Danny Loader made it four goals for club or country in less than a week with a brace for England Under 19s.

The 18-year-old striker helped Keith Downing’s U19s kick-start their new campaign with a convincing 4-1 victory over the Netherlands at St George’s Park yesterday.

Manchester City’s Phil Foden and Manchester United’s Angel Gomez also netted in the win that will put Downing’s youngsters in good confidence for their upcoming trip to Belgium.

Loader’s impressive brace yesterday led to increasing calls for his promotion to the Royals first-team from the club’s supporters.

It came just five days after the Academy graduate and former Leighton Park School pupil had scored another double for Reading U23s in a thrilling 4-2 comeback victory at Newcastle United in Premier League 2.

Loader has also made the nine-man shortlist for PL2 Player of the Month for August, having notched three goals in three games with two against Norwich and one against Wolves.

He also won a penalty against Sunderland and another in a Premier League International Cup victory against Leicester City.

The other players nominated for the award are: Aaron Connolly (Brighton), Victor Gyokeres (Brighton), Tariq Lamptey (Chelsea), Layton Ndukwu (Leicester), Nabil Touaizi Zoubdi (Manchester City), Angel Gomes (Manchester United), Luke Molyneux (Sunderland) and Xande Silva (West Ham).

The winner will be announced on Monday.
