BANK Holiday weekends always see a drop in match bookings and last weekend was no different, writes Alan Hughes.

TRBLAS A were the only club on RDAA waters and they fished their match at Beat 4B on the Kennet at Rose Kiln Lane.

Your correspondent took the honours with 7lbs 6ozs of roach and perch.

Steve O’Keefe claimed the runner-up place with 6lbs 14ozs of similar species and Ian Claridge completed the top trio with 5lbs 7ozs of the same species.

TRBLAS B fished their stretch of the Thames at Hardwicke and this match was dominated by Liam Page-Smith who weighed in 17lbs 10os of quality roach.

Second spot went to Darren Rogers, who took 6lbs 10ozs of roach to the scales, and third place was claimed by John Smith with 5lbs 13ozs of roach.

Reading Fishing Club used their stretch of the Thames at Beale Trust, where 15 anglers turned out to fish the middle section on a very wet and windy day.

Richard Rosinski came out top with a winning weight of 12lbs 4ozs consisting of skimmers and roach.

In second place was Dave Bosher with 12lbs also with skimmers and roach. In third place was Martyn Hicks with 8lbs 8ozs of mainly roach.

This weekend's association match will be held back on the River Kennet, with the draw held at Green Park due to roads in the Pingewood area being closed for the Reading Triathlon.
