JACK Ford starred for Eversley as they moved up to second in the Division 2a table following a seven-wicket home win against Kidmore End, writes Richard Ashton.

James Frost top scored with 58 for the visitors, while Abid Ul-Wahab added 40 in their total of 177.

South African Andrew Niblett (3-57) and skipper Chris Last (3-25) were the stand-out performers for the Boars, with Ford’s brilliant 83 not out then firing Eversley to victory in 38.2 overs.

Kidmore End visit Kew as the league reverts to the 50-overs-a-side win-lose format on Saturday (12.30pm).

Hurst eased their Division 2b relegation worries with a four-wicket success against Thatcham Town.

Nick Reynolds (4-31), Andrew Ruddock (3-40) and Phil Higgs (3-5) were all among the wickets as Thatcham were skittled for just 86, and James Watt (38) and Alex Kayser (37) then guided the away side to victory.

Second-bottom Hurst are at home to Wokingham 2nds this coming Saturday.

Wargrave kept their slim title hopes alive with a dramatic one-wicket win at Beaconsfield, leap-frogging their opponents into second in the table.

Mandip Sohi took 4-9 as the hosts were skittled for 126, and he also made 55 before falling to make the score 102-4.

A collapse ensued, but the visitors were just able to reach 127-9 in 31.1 overs.

Wargrave visit Royal Ascot on Saturday.

In Division 3a, Finchampstead 3rds (115) lost to Purley on Thames (118-4) by six wickets.

Alex Clough (4-32) and Robbie Jeffrey (3-38) starred with the ball for the Potters, before Richard Sandford’s unbeaten 45 guided them home in 28.4 overs.

Purley on Thames visit Falkland 2nds on Saturday.

Duncan Parr made 63 for Sonning (178), but they dropped back to the foot of the Division 3b table following an 86-run defeat to Datchet 2nds (264-4 declared after 45 overs).

Sonning host NPL on Saturday.

Steve Belcher’s unbeaten 66 kept third-placed Sulhamstead (184-4) firmly in the Division 4a promotion race after they beat White Waltham (183-9) by six wickets.

Sulhamstead visit Bagshot 2nds this coming Saturday.

Youngsters Kieran Lall (73) and Sravan Konidena (42) inspired second-placed Wargrave 2nds (216) to a comprehensive 136-run trouncing of Falkland 3rds (80) in Division 5b, Tom Walker (4-40) doing the damage with the ball.

Purley on Thames 2nds (164-9) remain bottom after an eight-wicket defeat to Bracknell (165-2), while Sonning 2nds are in the other relegation spot following a narrow two-wicket defeat to Boyne Hill 3rds.

David Coutts made 74 of Sonning’s 135, and despite Ella Phillips taking 3-13, the hosts reached 139-8 in 26 overs.

In Division 6b, James White (116) and Jared Mizen (100) made sparkling hundreds as Theale & Tilehurst 2nds pulled away from the relegation zone with a 186-run annihilation of Burnham 4ths.

T&T racked up 310-6 before declaring after 45 overs, and Rob Dimmack (5-17) and Brian Cooper (4-68) then ran through the visitors for 124.

A magnificent unbeaten 103 from Tim Everitt inspired Hurst 2nds (199-2) to a convincing eight-wicket triumph against Aldershot 3rds (198-8).

Kidmore End 2nds (100-4) cruised to a six-wicket Division 7a win against Royals Ascot 3rds (98), aided by a fine spell from Azhar Udeen (5-32).

Third-placed Sulhamstead 2nds stayed just two points off promotion with a five-wicket win against rock bottom Theale & Tilehurst 3rds.

Steven Abery top scored with 48 as T&T declared on 212-9, Digvijay Singh taking 4-43, and Keerthi Prakash (73) and Singh (53no) then helped Sully home.

In Division 8a, Afzal Siddiqui took 5-30 as Royal Ascot 4ths won a nail-biter by two wickets at home to Wargrave 3rds.

The visitors were bowled out for 151, youngster Taran Sohi top scoring with 43, but Disney Abeyesekara’s 42 proved key in helping Ascot over the line.

A disappointing batting performance from Bradfield 2nds led to a 62-run home defeat to Boyne Hill 4ths.

The home side looked to be in a good position after Bob Bolton took 5-19 to help dismiss Boyne Hill for 156, but none of the Bradfield batsman got going as they were shot out for a mere 94.

Captain Wazir Khan top scored with 48 for Sonning 3rds, but they suffered an eight-wicket defeat to Hayes 3rds.

Sonning chose to bat and posted a seemingly competitive 185-9 in their 40 overs, but Hayes raced to 186-2 in 25.

Eversley 4ths completed a clean sweep of victories for the club with a three-wicket win at Kidmore End 3rds.

Todd Butler (80) and Ankur Raina (57no) had put Kidmore in with a chance as they totalled 209-6 in their 40 overs, but James Forsyth’s 41 and the addition of 40 extras meant the Boars were able to get home with more than five balls to spare.
