NIGEL BENN announced his intentions for a sensational comeback at an event in Reading last night (May 31).
The 'Dark Destroyer' let slip at an evening at the Reading Hilton Hotel that he is in talks with both Steve Collins and Chris Eubank for a comeback fight before the end of the year.
Benn, 54, has been retired since 1996, but claimed that there is £5m each on the table should Eubank accept, though he admitted during the after-dinner interview that it is unlikely to manifest.
He said: "There's five million on the table each. It's been on the table for a year now, he doesn't have a pot to urinate in, yet he still doesn't fancy it.
"I called Steve (Collins) the other day and asked him 'do you fancy the fight?' and he said 'yeah, alright. How much?' and I was delighted.
"It'll be 12 rounds, and I want it to happen before the end of the year, I won't let it go longer than the end of the year because I have too much to do back in Australia."
"He has his licence from Malta, I'd get mine from Australia.
"I train twice every day. This morning I was training with Conor (his son), sometimes I train on my own, sometimes I train with others. I just train, I'm a gym junkie."
Benn also admitted he was speaking with a promoter to try and organise the bout.
