WOODLEY United remain third-bottom of the Hellenic League Premier Division after falling to a narrow 3-2 home defeat to high-flying Wantage Town on Monday night.

The visitors took a 23rd-minute lead through Joe Grant, only for Woodley to level just after the half-hour mark courtesy of James Tennant.

Ben Willoughby restored Wantage's advantage before the interval, and they extended their lead early in the second half when Steve Robertson grabbed his 34th goal of a prolific campaign.

United pulled a goal back through Toby Briggs midway through the half, but despite the same player hitting the crossbar late on, they could not find an equaliser.

Woodley United host Tuffley Rovers this coming Saturday (3pm), before welcoming Thames Valley Police to Rivermoor in the Reading Senior Cup on Monday night (7.45pm).

Highmoor Ibis remain second bottom after their home game with Binfield was postponed on Saturday.

Ibis travel to Lydney Town on Saturday (3pm).

AFC Aldermaston slipped to a disappointing 2-1 defeat at Milton United in Division One East.

Kai Parton-Edey was on target for the Atom Men, but second-half goals from Jamie Davies and Ryan Donnelly secured all three points for the 10-man hosts, Ollie Creed having seen red.

Aldermaston remain 10th in the table and host high-flying Penn & Tylers Green this coming Saturday (3pm).
