READING Irish crashed out of the Berks & Bucks Intermediate Cup after losing 2-1 at FC Bentons, but Purley are through to the semi finals thanks to a 4-2 extra-time win at Padbury, writes Richard Ashton.

In the Junior Trophy, Sportsman progressed to the quarter finals with a 4-2 success at Delta Vigo, while Richfield Rovers Reserves are into the last four of the Tilehurst Charity Cup after brushing aside AFC Burghfield 4-1.

In the only Premier Division game, Woodley Wanderers proved too strong for lowly Ghana Stars, running out 6-2 winners.

Division One table-toppers Reading United were held to a 2-2 draw at AFC Bradfield, a week after cruising past the same opponents 6-2.

However, they now head the table by three points after second-placed The Bull were surprisingly beaten 3-1 at home by Pangbourne & Basildon Barbarians.

Burghfield won their derby 5-3 at AFC Burghfield Reserves, while Woodley Wanderers Reserves drew 3-3 with WS Hobnob.

Berkshire Rovers saw their Division Two promotion hopes knocked by a shock 2-1 home defeat to Park Villa, while Wokingham & Emmbrook secured a 5-2 triumph in their mid-table battle with Loxwood.

Englefield remain four points clear at the top of Division Three after they overcame home side Southcote Colts 2-0.

But second-placed Twyford Comets kept the pressure on with a 4-2 win against AFC Pangbourne, though, while Mortimer Reserves came out on top in an eight-goal thriller at Loddon Valley Rangers, winning 5-3.

In Division Four, Theale climbed to the top of the table after battering Fox & Hounds 6-0, Shinfield Rangers edged out basement boys Caversham United 3-2, and Borussia Teeth won an epic clash with Burghfield Reserves 6-4.
