READING Rockets (8-6) will hope to return to winning ways when they travel to Worthing Thunder (9-5) in their NBL Division One clash on Saturday.

Manuel Pena Garces’ men are on a three-game losing streak, having suffered defeats to Team Newcastle, Hemel Storm, and most recently Team Solent Kestrels, but the head coach still has his sights set on a top-four finish.

He said: “It has been good to have two weeks to prepare as it has given us an opportunity to review a lot of the areas we have been working in and also give the players some time off ahead of the last stage of the season.

“We have been pleased with our progression over the last three games and with this two-week period of just training and preparing we feel ready ahead of our trip on Saturday.”

He continued: “Worthing has been on a tremendous run of late and have added some really good players to their roster so we are expecting a tough game, especially with the crowds they have been getting and the form they have shown there.

“However, I really believe in this group of players and providing we are clear with our outcomes and execute in the areas that are important I think we can come away with a win.”

Rockets go into Saturday’s encounter with no new injury concerns, with captain Danny Carter (pictured above left) fit after playing his first competitive game since November against Kestrels.
