READING FC striker Sam Smith described the horrific clash between Tiago Ilori and Liam Moore as something from Halloween.
The two central defenders collided mid-way through the first-half against Middlesbrough on Saturday afternoon.
They needed urgent medical attention and blood could be seen pouring out of both players' heads.
Liam Moore was injured in the clash.
Ilori, who could be seen staggering when he stood up, had to be rushed to hospital for treatment while Moore spent 10 minutes in the tunnel receiving stitches.
And 19-year-old Smith said he was shocked by the incident.
"It was like something from Halloween," stated Smith.
"I went over to Tiago and there was blood spraying out of his head.
"I got blood on my shirt."
Ilori received treatment on the pitch before being taken to hospital.
Former Leicester City star Moore was assessed after the match and could be available to feature against Nottingham Forest tonight [Tuesday].
However, Royals boss Jaap Stam admitted Ilori could be a doubt because he was believed to have suffered a concussion.
He said: "It is not looking good.
"He will probably be out for a while."
