A MEMORIAL match to celebrate the contribution of a club cricketing stalwart was held recently at the Les Clark Oval in Stoke Row.
The Twenty20 contest – which was captained by Les’s two sons, Jonny and Chris – featured ex-Stoke Row and Woodcote CC players and attracted a sizeable crowd of more than 50 people on a sunny afternoon.
Chris Clark’s team scored 141-8 with Paul Knox hitting a rapid 47 not out, and their opponents were all out for 114 with Mark Robertson scoring 22.
Twelve-year-old Archie Clark, son of Chris, scored 10 runs and took one wicket in his bowling spell. Paul Knox was presented with the Les Clark Shield as the player of the day.
