WHITEKNIGHTS Bowling Club have triumphed in the national Denny Cup, defeating Norfolk BC 74-69 in an entertaining final.

Top rink for Whiteknights was skipped by Simon Jones with Carl Brooks, Neil Jones and Colin Brooks.

In the semi finals, Whiteknights had outclassed near rivals Wey Valley BC from Guildford 86-60.

Top rink for Whiteknights was skipped by Andy Knapper with Ken Elson, Steve Smith and Lloyd Sabatini.

They finished their game plus 19 shots.

It follows on from the success of the triples team of Michael Knight, Simon Jones and Robert Newman (pictured right) who won the national title 17-16 against Riverain recently.

l WOKINGHAM opened their season with a 133-79 defeat at Windsor & Eton in a friendly.

Wokingham were successful on just one rink where they won 20 shots to 15.

The winning rink was skipped by David Smith along with Barry Wooley, Diane Pople and Ann Taylor.

Meanwhile, Andrew Cullington made his Wokingham debut.
