The hosts’ opening pair of Andy Johnson (63) – who was dropped on four – and Kingston (38) shared their second consecutive half century stand to set a solid platform for West End.

Useful contributions throughout the order helped Mortimer post a challenging 238-6, aided by a final flourish from Steve Audsley (48*). Dion Sampson (3-47) was the pick of the visitors’ attack.

Andy Watts (72) led the Stoke Row reply with aplomb, but he received little support after Richard Walker (29) was dismissed to leave Peppard 82-2.

Skipper Kingston then starred, ripping through the lower order to claim 7-39 as Peppard Stoke Row were 165 all out.

Woodcote sprung a major surprise as they secured a thrilling 35 run win against champions Sulhamstead.

Rhod James was the batting hero for Cote, although his 79 was one of only three double figure scores.

Young seamer Doug Macdonald (5-24) continued his impressive start to the season as the hosts were dismissed for a seemingly under par 134.

However, a sensational spell from the evergreen Zaf Akram (6-25) turned the game on its head as Sulhamstead were dismissed for just 99.

West Reading returned to form with a bang as they thumped Welford Park by 176 runs.

Adam Davidson (73) led from the front before Rahim Khan (86) and Usman Asif (64) created mayhem – striking nine sixes between them – as West Reading posted 277-6 declared.

Welford lost early wickets to leave them 18-3, before Hafeez Ul Wahab (6-36) skittled the tail to leave Park 101 all out.

Sandhurst secured their first positive result of the season with a winning draw at home to Woodley.

Captain Adam Birch (53) and Anthony Clapham (47) helped the Camels reach 208-8, despite the side suffering four run outs.

Steve Phipps (3-32) put Woodley in trouble from the outset, and they were content to take a draw with Usman Shah (72*) leading them to safety.

A brilliant knock from Zaffer Ali helped South East Reading to a thrilling two-wicket win against BCS Grosvenor.

Manesh Kapoor (31) top scored for Grosvenor as they posted a competitive 176, while Qamar Abbass took 3-21 for the visitors.

In reply, Ali made a match-winning 71 to help his side cross the line with just three balls to spare, despite the best efforts of Ehtsham Iqbal (4-39).

Division One

RICHARD Barron made a sensational 173 not out as Crowthorne & Crown Wood secured a first win of the season against Farley Hill.

The newly-formed club had been washed out for the first two weeks of the season, but opener Barron was in swashbuckling form. Aided by an unbeaten 57 from Mohammed Izzadeen, the Crows posted a massive 291-2 declared.

Pete Jameson (41) put up some resistance, but Ravi Godbole (3-41) and Ant Cluett (3-21) helped dismiss Hill for 175.

Emmbrook & Bearwood’s Sean Woodward claimed brilliant figures of 7-21 but still ended up on the losing side against Checkendon.

The youngster bowled superbly as the hosts were knocked over for 150, with John Acland-Hood (50) the stand-out performer.

However Emmbrook also struggled with the bat, and Surya Poodipeddi and Varun Kaushal ended with identical figures of 4-30 as Bearwood collapsed to 84 all out.

A seven-wicket haul from Mohammed Yousuf helped West Reading 2s pull off a stunning win in a low-scoring thriller against Ibis Mapledurham.

Three wickets apiece for Erroll Masters and John Carr restricted Wests to 101 all out, with opener Adnan Raja making 38.

However Yousuf proved unplayable in claiming 7-31 as Ibis slipped to a second straight defeat after making just 77.

Waltham St Lawrence beat Ruislip Victoria by 46 runs. Waltham posted 222 all out on the back of good knocks from Paul Harris (68) and Henry Evans (51), before Zaheer Gujjar and Siva Kumar took three wickets apiece to bowl the visitors out for 176.

Division Two

SIMON Coxwell (5-30) helped Sandhurst 2s ease to a nine-wicket victory at Bradfield.

The seamer was aided by fellow opening bowler Sunam Malla (3-30) as the hosts were shot out for just 91 in less than 25 overs.

The Camels found the going significantly easier and Doug Seaburg (37*) and Kevin Speakman (35*) helped them knock off the runs.

Hugh Asquith scored the 30th century of his career with a wonderful 113 not out as Peppard Stoke Row 2s beat Mortimer West End 2s by six wickets.

Taylor Vines (4-31) and Richard Woolfrey (3-37) helped Peppard restrict the visitors to 164 All Out, with Abrar Pewekar (44) top scoring.

However that total was never likely to be enough as Asquith powered his side home.

Sonning 3s continued their fine start to the season but had to settle for a winning draw as Warfield’s last wicket partnership denied them victory.

Will Ward’s fine 93 helped Sonning to 194-9, before Ryan Pownall (4-34) left the visitors clinging on to safety – which they managed by closing on 136-9.

It was a similar story of so near yet so far for Sulhamstead 2s, who rattled up 229-6 against Crowthorne & Crown Wood 2s. Isaac Walkom (62) and Jason Doole (57) both made half centuries while Raj Mann claimed 3-40.

Stephen Collins snared 3-20 as the Crows struggled in reply, ending on 115-9.

Division Three

HAWLEY CC made it three wins from three after securing a nail-biting 21 run win against Woodley 2s.

Carl Delaney made 79 as Hawley reached 193-7, but a majestic 100 from Adnan Riaz put the hosts in with a chance until they were dismissed for 172 – Ben Harris taking 4-45.

BCS Grosvenor 2s beat Purley-on-Thames 3s by 47 runs at Scours Lane. BCS reached 134 All Out but were then inspired by Basat Ali’s 4-11 to bowl Purley out for just 87.

Chris Butcher (96) narrowly missed out on a century but his Stratfield Turgis 2s side secured victory at home to Welford Park 2s.

Stratfield made 182-5 before the visitors were dismissed for 144 despite the best efforst of Manoj George (77).

Knowl Hill secured a four-wicket win against Waltham St Lawrence 2s after bowling the visitors out for 126.

However, despite using 10 bowlers they could not secure the win, with Shinfield ending on 197-6.

West Reading 3s picked up a fantastic two-wicket win against Sonning 4s as Mohammed Jamil’s unbeaten 58 helped them chase down the required 197.
