A DRIVING school believes an annual award ceremony is a key factor in delivering success and developing businesses across the town.

The Reading Retail Awards highlight business success stories across the borough allowing customers to vote for their favourite shopkeepers from across the retail spectrum from large to small.

Premier and Angels driving school has been teaching people to drive for the last 30 years and this year the school has thrown its weight behind the Awards.

Lynne Pyke, of the Premier and Angels driving school, said the annual competition has set her business on the road to success.

Lynne said: “The awards are tremendously important for the area because it has grown so much and it brings clientele together.

“It’s important that small businesses get recognition for their hard work as well.”

Now in its seventh year, the awards will take place at the Hilton Hotel in Reading on Saturday, September 17, which promises an evening of entertainment and dancing.

The shortlist was revealed three weeks ago and will be judged by a panel of four judges.

Among those still in with a shout of retail glory are Eclectic Games in the My Favourite Shop category, Quantam Web Cafe in the Cafes, Coffees and Lunch Category and Himalaya Momo House in the Restaurant of the Year Category.
