BATH bombs, knot-wraps, shampoo-bars and top-knotch service has landed a cosmetics shop a Reading Retail Award nomination.

The Oracle based Lush has been put into the My Favourite Shop category by Jessica Wicks.

What began as a family run business in 1960s Poole has grown into a multi-million pound explosion of low chemical fragrant beauty products.

Aan-Sofie Guzik, who manages the Reading branch, said: “I was working with Lush in California but I wanted to be closer to where the business was founded.

“I think what sets Lush apart and why I love working here is the fact that customers don't just buy products, they receive a whole experience.

“At Lush Reading we try to go that extra mile. We provide personal advice and an environment where people can interact with the products.”

Around 20 people currently work at Lush in Reading in a diverse team that stretches in age from 17 to 50 and includes students, parents and aspiring screen writers.

Satisfied customer Ms Wicks said: “The staff in there always go above and beyond with their customer service.

“The campaign on a number of issues I hold close to my heart and are so knowledgable about all of their products.

“A fantastic shop to spend time in, friendly staff and an awesome selection of products and gifts.”

The Reading Retail Awards are in their seventh year.

Nominations close on July 11 with the awards ceremony at the Hilton Hotel on September 17.
