DEDICATED fundraisers have had another successful year by donating more than £45,000 to a number of good causes.

Woodley and Earley Lions Club would like to thank the public for supporting its fundraising efforts throughout 2017.

Addington School received £15,000 to fund a new minibus in partnership with Lord's Taverners and Woodley First Resonders unveiled a new vehicle following a £17,500 pledge.

As well as hosting the annual fireworks extravaganza, the Lions played a vital role in supporting Laurel Park FC's annual community open day after the club was hit by scammers.

Colin Gibson said: "It has been a very successful year for the club both in terms of raising funds and moreover in donating those funds to local and worthwhile causes."
