CRICKETERS are appealing for help to purchase new nets for their club to bring them up to standard.
Theale and Tilehurst Cricket Club requires more than £16,500 for the new equipment to provide for the next generation of players.
The existing structure, which was put in place in 2006, will be replaced with a stronger alternative and allow bowlers to extend their run-ups.
Second XI captain Brian Cooper said: "Refurbishing the nets will allow the club and the local community to have a modern and high quality practice facility that will last for another 15 or 20 years.
"Replacing the matting in the net is important because the existing matting has become worn. All of this brings us up to England and Wales Cricket Board standard."
