A MAN suffered a broken jaw after he was punched outside a pub in the early hours.
The victim, a 23-year-old man, was approached by two men outside the Slug and Lettuce pub in Market Place in Newbury.
One of the men punched him in the early hours of January 15 causing him to fall to the ground and suffer a broken jaw.
He was taken to John Radcliffe Hospital for treatment for a broken jaw.
Ben Thompson, 20, of Hawthorn Road, Newbury was charged on Saturday with one count of grievous bodily harm with intent.
He is due to appear at Reading Magistrates’ Court on November 30.
Thompson and a 21-year-old man from Newbury were arrested on January 19 in connection with the offence, but the other man has been released without charge.
