PUPILS and staff celebrated after a pre-school stayed in inspectors' good books.
English Martyrs Pre-School in Liebenrood Road, Tilehurst, was once again ranked as 'good' by education watchdog Ofsted.
Bosses have also re-assured parents and carers that there are no plans to close down the site despite its search for a permanent site.
Carlene McMahon, manager, said: "Over the past few months, we have also been gradually working towards a calmer, more neutral feel to the setting. To achieve this we have replaced a lot of our colourful plastic resources with wooden, neutral resources that are more open-ended.
"Having Ofsted visit us whilst these changes have been taken place and given us such good feedback, means we heading in the right direction.
"We are so happy and I am very proud of the team for their dedication, support and hard work. We would also like to thank all our families for their continued support. ‘’
The pre-school has been based in English Martyrs Catholic Church since 1972, but its tenure remains uncertain.
But staff are determined to find a permanent site.
A spokesman added: "The management committee and staff have been working with members of Reading Borough Council and the Reading Early Years team, into looking for permanent premises to house the Pre-School."
