WE’VE had the courgette crisis- now it looks like we’ve got a cauliflower crisis.
The Sunday Times has reported that £600,000 worth of cauliflower has been ploughed up at a UK whilst retailers opt to import the vegetable instead.
It’s alleged retailers are overlooking home-grown produce in favour of Spanish cauliflower.
A farmer in Broadstairs, Kent, claimed about 40 acres of cauliflower will go to waste this week.
