The Berkshire Rugby Festival tomorrow has been cancelled because of the severe weather expected in the lead up to the event.
The exhibition matches and practices for children have had to be pulled over safety concerns.
However, All Blacks legend Jonah Lomu and RFU President Jason Leonard will still be at the Green Park conference centre on Tuesday with the Webb Ellis Trophy.
Organiser Jason McMahon said he was "absolutely gutted" to have been thwarted by the weather.
However, he said there was still things for children to do including a kick simulator.
He said: "This has been in the planning for a year and I'm absolutely gutted as this has all been done voluntarily.
"We have had to stop the rugby festival because of safety of the participants and Green Park have allowed us to use the area and we didn't want to damage it."
Mr McMahon said with the two superstars of Rugby Union and the trophy there from around 11am then families should still turn up to the Green Park Conference Centre.
The trophy will be at Reading railway station on Tuesday morning for commuters to catch a glimpse at the what the world's rugby teams will be trying to win from current holders New Zealand.
