ARTISTIC children have set the bar high this Christmas by making the most of a box of buttons.
Nursery pupils from Whitley Park School were given a festive task of sorting the leftover materials from John Lewis.
They were instructed to make a piece of Christmas artwork and the bauble-clad canvas has taken pride of place in the store throughout December.
Joy Willmott and Diane Pocock, part of the school's early years team, said: "It started off as a Maths challenge with the children sorting this huge box into different colours.
"It is a really impressive achievement for the children to put this together and we are just so thrilled to see it in the store."
The group of three-year-old children visited the town centre on Wednesday and received Christmas goodie bags to thank them for their efforts.
Jo Evans, PR and marketing coordinator for John Lewis, added: "We think Whitley Park's creation of artwork using buttons from our Haberdashery department is stunning and they deserve a huge well done for their efforts."
