GUN-TOTTING thugs tried to steal cash and money from a cyclist on Monday.

The 24-year-old victim was walking his bike up Whitley Wood Road when two hooded men demanded he handed over cash and his phone.

He refused and the duo fled empty handed into woodland by the junction with Hartland Road at around 9.25pm.

Investigating officer Police Constable Victoria Driver, said: "I would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who has any information that could assist us with our investigation.

"Anyone with information can contact me via the Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101."

The first man was black, around 5ft 10ins tall with a medium build and is thought to be around 30-years-old.

He has a black shoulder-length curly afro and was wearing dark jeans and a top with the hood down.

The second man is thought to be the same age and is around 5ft 7ins and a slim build. He was wearing dark trousers and a top with the hood up.
