A MAN threatened staff at a convenience store with a hammer before demanding cash.
The man entered the Butts convenience store in Park Lane, Reading, at 8.30pm on February 8.
He brandished the hammer at staff before demanding they hand over cash from the till.
The shopworkers refused, however, and he fled the scene, and it is believed that he got into a dirty red car next to a bus stop on School Lane before driving along Chapel Hill.
Nobody was injured in the incident.
Investigating officer, Detective Constable Peter Cave, of Reading Force CID, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident, or who has any information relating to it.
“If you have any information which you think could help our investigation, please call the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number on 101.”
