A night of voodoo rock, electro-psych, and indie guitar pop is coming to The Face Bar.

Future Transmissions presents The Go Go Cults Nightmare Before Christmas, taking place on Saturday, December 19, at the Reading venue on Ambrose Place.

The Go Go Cult, a four-piece band formed in 2009, will headline with their blend of voodoo rock 'n' roll, hypnotic psychedelia, garage punk, and gothabilly.

A spokesman for Future Transmissions said: "Think the Cramps, Rezillos, Link Wray, The Tall Boys/Early Meteors a bit of surf guitar (Dick Dale and the Del-Tones, The Surfaris) with a touch of Johnny Cash and Siouxsie mixed in."

Joining them on the bill are Pink Diamond Revue, a three-piece electro/dance/psych outfit fronted by aCID DoL, a model from 'another dimension'.

Their music combines acid house wooziness with metronomic drums and twanging guitars to create what organisers describe as 'a euphoric yet queasy atmosphere'.

Since forming in 2015, the band has played more than 300 live shows.

Also performing are Polly b Rose, a Reading-based four-piece featuring former Transvision Vamp drummer Pol Burton and Rise Carlotti, a founding member of 1990s indie band The Heart Throbs.

The organisers said: "Great band alert. For all your guitar pop needs."

Doors open at 8pm with tickets priced at just £5.

Tickets are available from www.wegottickets.com/futuretransmissions.

The Face Bar is located at Ambrose Place, Chatham Street, Reading, RG1 7JE.
