Police data has revealed the most commonly reported type of crime in West Berkshire in June.
Recently released police data from June 2026 shows that a total of 916 crimes were reported in West Berkshire that month.
The data discloses where each crime was reported, and the Chronicle has created an interactive map so you can check if any crimes were reported in your area.
The most commonly reported type of crime was 'violence and sexual offences', reported 336 times and accounting for 36.7 per cent of all crimes.
The category of 'violence and sexual offences' includes offences against the person such as common assault, grievous bodily harm, and sexual offences.
The second most prevalent type of crime was antisocial behaviour, reported 134 times and making up 14.6 per cent of the total.
The third most common crime type was shoplifting, reported 110 times and accounting for 12 per cent.
These crime type categorisations come from the police data, which classifies reported crimes according to 14 different types.

The fourth most reported crime type in West Berkshire in June was 'public order' offences, which made up 8.3 per cent of the total with 76 reports.
The category of 'public order' offences includes behaviour that causes fear, alarm, or distress.
Next was criminal damage and arson, reported 70 times and accounting for 7.6 per cent.

The sixth most common crime type in West Berkshire in June was 'other theft', reported 54 times and accounting for 5.9 per cent of the total.
The rarest types of crime in West Berkshire in June, each making up less than four per cent of the total, were burglary (34 reports, 3.7 per cent), 'other crime' (28 reports, 3.1 per cent), drug offences (24 reports, 2.6 per cent), vehicle crime (23 reports, 2.5 per cent), bicycle theft (15 reports, 1.6 per cent), possession of weapons (five reports, 0.5 per cent), theft from the person (four reports, 0.4 per cent), and finally robbery (three reports, 0.3 per cent).
