A Reading choir performed at a government event in London earlier this month.
Universal Voices, a community children’s choir based at the University of Reading’s Institute of Education, took part in a Department for Education (DfE) stakeholder reception on Tuesday, July 7.
The choir performed a set of climate-themed songs, concluding with one written especially for the Climate Ambassadors programme.
Dr Rebecca Berkley, director of Universal Voices and co-author of the song, said: "It was a privilege for the children to perform at the Department for Education.
"They have worked hard on this programme of songs, and singing the Climate Ambassadors song in the building where the programme is based meant a great deal to them."
She said the experience was 'a privilege' for Universal Voices’ 7 to 11-year-old members.
The Climate Ambassadors programme, part of the DfE’s Sustainability Support Programme, connects more than 1,300 volunteers with education settings to support their climate action plans.
