Rubbish has been left festering at a private housing association in Reading deemed 'unacceptable' by the council as they call for 'urgent action'.
Photos shared by Green Councillor Rob White in Liverpool Road show both the general waste and recycling bins overflowing, with rubbish in bags being left on the floor.
Neighbouring residents have shared their concerns about the increased number of rubbish left festering on the ground.
Green Councillor Rob White for Park Ward and leader of the main opposition party on Reading Council said: "There are a number of locations across the town where I think the council needs to get tough with people, organisations and businesses not managing their waste properly from large overflowing, poorly managed 1100 L bins on Wokingham Road and Oxford Road to housing associations in Newtown.
"The council has tried raising issues and advice the council now needs to start working through the different levels of fine and legal action. The relevant teams within the council need to be resourced better so this action can be taken. Green councillors will keep working to tidy up the town."
