A hotel operator has taken over the management of two Crowne Plaza sites.
Troo Hospitality, led by Stewart Davies and Winston Zahra, has added the Crowne Plaza Reading and Crowne Plaza Marlow to its growing portfolio in the Thames Valley.
The appointment follows the acquisition of the hotels by London‑based real estate investor Millemont Capital Partners, which bought the pair from Meridian Leisure Hotels in an undisclosed deal understood in the industry to be worth around £80m, according to CoStar.
The acquisitions bring Troo Hospitality's total to 13 hotels and more than 1,750 rooms under management.
Crowne Plaza Reading is a 174-room, four-star property with six floors, 550 square metres of conference space, a spa, gym, and 160-seat restaurant.
Recently refurbished, the riverside hotel also features a destination spa with pool and treatment rooms, a 90-seat bar and around 120 on-site parking spaces aimed at corporate and leisure guests.
Crowne Plaza Marlow offers 168 rooms, 770 square metres of conference space, a 230-seat restaurant, and a conservatory and terrace with views of the gardens and lake.
Set within landscaped grounds on a five-acre lakeside plot, the hotel draws both corporate and leisure trade and provides around 300 parking spaces as well as an on-site helipad.

Troo Hospitality's portfolio also includes The Shakespeare Hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon, The Eastgate Hotel in Oxford, The Caledonian Hotel in Aberdeen, and Yotel Edinburgh.
It also manages the Corus Hotel Hyde Park in London and Manchester properties Hotel Football and the Stock Exchange Hotel, further expanding its footprint in key UK cities.
