An application by a convenience store for late-night alcohol sales in a popular area for students in Reading has been withdrawn.
Pop Ins in Erleigh Road is conveniently located in a busy neighbourhood surrounded by terraces that are home to families and students in East Reading.
The store sells a range of snacks, alcoholic drinks, frozen meals and a confectionery section with American sweets.
The business submitted a licensing application to Reading Borough Council to sell alcohol from 8am to 11pm Monday to Tuesday, until 1am from Wednesday to Saturday, and 10am to 11pm on Sundays.
A statutory consultation into the application was triggered.
However, a council licensing officer confirmed that the application was withdrawn following the closure of statutory consultation on Wednesday, April 15.
Pop Ins is currently open from 8am to 11pm Monday to Saturday, and 8am to 10.30pm on Sundays.
If any public comments opposing an application are submitted, it must be decided at a meeting of the council's licensing applications sub-committee.
