Three by-elections for the local councils in Earley and Shinfield have been decided.

Voters in Earley and Shinfield went to the polls to elect four new councillors on Thursday, December 11.

The Liberal Democrats won in the by-election for the Hawkedon ward on Earley Town Council, with Keith Yabsley being elected.

Meanwhile, there were two by-elections to choose three representatives for Shinfield Parish Council, which were swept by the Conservatives.

In the Shinfield North ward, Jackie Rance and Greg Poole, both Conservatives, won, as voters needed to choose two new councillors.

Councillor Rance was elected to Wokingham Borough Council as representative for Shinfield ward in a by-election last December.

Therefore, she will sit on both councils.
