PCSO’s in Tilehurst made a visit to a Reading school this month to teach them about road safety.
The team joined pupils at St Micheals primary school on Friday, November 22 where they spoke about a number of tips that will keep them safe on the road.
The topics on the day included avoiding distractions such as mobile devices when out and about and crossing the road at a safe crossing if possible.
The teachers and adults present were also reminded to be a good role model to young people and to always cross safely using crossings and good judgement.
Officers also spoke about cycling, reminding students to wear bright colours and a helmet when cycling at night.
Another tip that they spoke about was to remember not to cross between cars or on bends. This is due to a possibility that a car is travelling on the road out of sight.
