A jewellery box and multiple other items were stolen after two men broke into a house in broad daylight.
The incident happened in Upper Warren Avenue, Caversham, at around 3.50pm on Friday, September 20.
The two men forced open a ground floor window at the back of the house and climbed inside.
They were then disturbed by a neighbour who had seen them acting suspiciously and left the scene.
The victims were not at home at the time.
The first man is described as white, in his late 20s, of small to medium build, and was wearing a dark blue tracksuit top, blue trousers, a blue baseball cap, and a white medical-style face mask.
The second man was also white, aged between 35 and 45, around 5ft 11ins tall, and well built.
He was wearing a short-sleeve white t-shirt and a white medical face mask.
Detective Constable Michael Hanson, of the Reading Priority Crime Team, said: "This incident has occurred in the middle of the afternoon on Friday.
"I am appealing to anybody who witnessed this, or who may have dash-cam, CCTV or doorbell footage from the area to please get in touch with Thames Valley Police."
