Men brandishing machetes stormed a home in Reading in a terrifying ordeal for the victims.
The two offenders, who were wearing dark clothes and balaclavas, broke into a property on Laud Close in the Coley Park area of the town in the early hours of Sunday, September 15.
The incident happened at around 5.35am.
The pair arrived at the property, broke in before leaving. Police are investigating the crime as an 'aggravated burglary' but said it isn't believed anything was taken.
Despite the threatening incident and ordeal for the victims, police were keen to stress they don't believe there is a threat to the wider public.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Becky Edey, based at Reading police station, said: “I understand this may be concerning for the community but there is nothing to suggest there is any wider threat to the public.
“I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this aggravated burglary or has information about it to please get in touch.
“Also, if you have any CCTV footage or any dash-cam footage if you were in the area around the time, I’d also ask that you check any recordings in case it has captured something that could assist our investigation.
