Police are investigating an incident of attempted sexual assault near St Bartholomew's School in Newbury.
The incident occurred in Andover Road, Newbury, on Thursday at around 11.20am.
Police report that a girl was approached by a man, who made inappropriate remarks towards her and then attempted to touch her inappropriately over clothing on her leg.
The man is described as white, aged in his late fifties with grey hair, grey stubble and round glasses.
He was wearing a navy Puffer jacket with a white stripe on the sleeve.
He was driving a 4x4 Volvo, but no registration number is known.
St Bartholomew's School deputy headteacher Adam Robbins has contacted pupils' parents and carers, providing details of the incident.
In an email seen by The Reading Chronicle, the deputy headteacher said that pupils are being given safeguarding guidance and are encouraged to report any suspicious activity to the police.
A spokesperson from Thames Valley Police said an investigation into this incident continues, and there has been an increased presence of officers in the area making house to house enquiries.
The spokesperson added: "No arrests have been made, and anybody who witnessed this, or who may have dash-cam, CCTV or doorbell footage is asked to contact Thames Valley Police on 101, quoting reference number 43240451128."
