The beautiful Wasing estate will welcome guests today Friday, September 20 to another celebration of equinox.

Backed by the legendary Brian Eno, this first-of-its-kind event promises an unforgettable weekend of music and more, featuring performances by Nitin Sawhney, Shpongle, Sam Lee, and many others.

Ahead of his performance tomorrow The Chronicle spoke directly with folk singer Sam Lee who will be gracing the main stage at 7.30 pm on Saturday, September 21.

Sam, who has attended events at Wasing many times, said that some of his favourite memories have been during his time hosting a stage at the medicine festival there.

"I have had the great privilege of booking some of my favourite musicians from all around the world, some incredible folk world musicians," he said.

"In the woods and around the fire, listening to Moroccan music to Scottish pipe players and all sorts of different and rare heritages from across the globe."

Sam also said that he is very excited this year to perform an ewe tree immersion at one of Wasing's 900-year-old ewe trees.

Sam has previously led pilgrimages to the large tree. Guests at the festival can expect to enjoy guided meditations under the ewe as part of EarthPercent Presents Equinox.

"I'm super happy that I've got my band coming," Sam said. "I'll be sharing some ancient British folk songs and also some that I have written which speak about our ancient relationship to nature.

"It will be very atmospheric and connected to the land."
