Dozens of people gathered for a bizarre new event that took place in the town centre over the weekend.
Many enjoyed watching the 2024 Reading Duck Race from the large pedestrian area around the Oracle Riverside as the ducks swam from Bridge St to Queens Car Park along the Kennet and Avon canal.
A spokesperson for Reading Rotary said "Hope everyone enjoyed the Reading Duck Race today. We raised over £5,000 for good causes and had around 3,500 ducks on the water.
"What a great day! Thanks for all the support. Special thanks to the The Oracle team and all the stores that donated prizes."
The Duck Race was a charity event with all proceeds donated to charities selected by the Rotary Club of Reading Abbey.
The first prize was £200 and a whole range of other prizes were donated by shops in the Oracle.
