Celebrations at the 21st annual Reading Pride made a splash last weekend (31/8) with a host of local and national talent wowing revellers throughout the day.
The day started with Pride’s extravagant parade which had organisations, officials and individuals marching through town in creative costumes and banners celebrating inclusivity and equality throughout the LGBT community.
Officials leading the parade from Reading Train Station included the Mayor of Reading, the Mayor of Woodley and Earley and the chairman of Reading Pride.
This marked the final year of the chairman’s reign after eight years holding the coveted title.
Revellers throughout the day included people from the LGBT community who had travelled from outside the area to celebrate alongside locals.
Talent performing on the main stage included the headline act, Queenz. The drag act has recently come off a West-end run and is currently doing a UK-wide tour wowing everyone with their stunning vocals and performances.
The celebrations, which took place at Kings Meadows, included three different stages, market stalls, a host of food and drink, and a funfair.
People of all ages took part in both the parade and the festivities.
