Reading & District Angling Association (RDAA) has invited a very special guest to its third open day this weekend in the form of an ex England goalkeeper (and keen angler!).
The community based angling club offers fishing for everyone at over 30 venues across the Thames Valley. It has an active and growing membership and helps existing anglers to improve their fishing skills and to encourage new people to take up the sport.
The RDAA is hosting its third open day event at Farnham Flint complex in Pingewood this Saturday, July 20. Admission is free and everyone is welcome.
This year’s special guest is the former Arsenal and England goalkeeper (and mad keen angler) David Seaman. Vistors can head along and meet the celebrity who is a keen fisherman as well as meet the hard working team behind RDAA and learn how to catch more and bigger fish or perhaps have a go at fishing for the first time. There is also the chance to pick up a tackle bargain at the car boot sale, and a raffle with prizes including a Platinum RDAA permit worth £500, plus some great quality tackle and bait.
Stalls on site for the day will include Action for the River Kennet, Angling Trust, Polish Anglers Association, RDAA, Thinking Anglers, Sticky Baits, Gardner Tackle, Oxford Carp Baits, Rod Hutchinson / Bait- Tech, Angling Direct, Tadley Angling, Wolf International, Carp Chaos.
The team said: “There is something for everyone. We will be raising money for our River Kennet Hatchery but the main purpose is to offer an interesting and enjoyable day out. We have ample parking, on-site toilets and refreshments available all day.”
The event will run from 10am to 5pm on Saturday, July 20, at Farnham Flint, Cottage Lane, Pingewood in Reading.
