Residents across Berkshire have been warned to brace themselves as the MET Office has reported a yellow weather warning for ‘heavy and persistent’ rain.
Berkshire and the South East of England are to be hit with heavy rain and winds that may affect travel and infrastructure across towns and villages.
From 6 pm on Monday, July 8 to 3 am on Tuesday, July 9, the MET Office has stated that there is a chance of ‘some interruption to power supplies and other services’.
Residents have been warned of delays in bus and train services that could affect travel times this evening (8/7).
A Met Office spokesperson added: “After a generally cloudy day with showers, more persistent rain will push north this evening and overnight.
“Rain will be persistent and heavy at times, particularly so for hills, moors and headlands exposed to brisk winds.”
Most areas will see 20-40mm of rain, with the most severe seeing as much as 60-70mm.
Experts have said that this however should ease from the south during the night, clearing to scattered showers by early tomorrow morning.
This comes following a heat wave which swept the country at the end of June.
