Police have launched an investigation into an incident of suspected arson in a Reading car park.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue were called to the parking area off Charles Evans Way in Caversham at around 3:30 am on Saturday, June 22 after reports of a car fire.
Images from the scene show that a black Audi A6 was damaged after being set alight.
According to Thames Valley Police, a silver Volkswagen Polo and a black Honda CRV were also damaged as the fire was extinguished by RBFRS.
Onlookers said that occasional loud bangs could be heard from the fire.
A local resident said: “There apparently may have been gas canisters stored in the car.”
A spokesperson from Thames Valley Police said: “Anyone with information should call 101 or make a report on our website, quoting reference number 43240293115.
“Alternatively, provide information anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or via its website.”
