A woman has been charged over an assault which took place in Reading over the weekend.
Michelle Townsend, 50, of Edinburgh Road, Reading, stands accused of attempting to cause grievously bodily harm, possession of a sharp pointed article in a public place, racially-aggravated harassment and two counts of criminal damage.
These were in relation to an incident in Oxford Road, Reading, on May 12.
This occurred around 4.10pm, and resulted in another woman being hospitalised with serious injuries.
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police say a police detention officer was also racially abused, and there was damage to a search room.
Townsend has been remanded in custody, ahead of an appearance at Reading Crown Court on June 10.
