Police have confirmed that a second body has been found along the River Thames.

On Saturday, April 20, at around 9:30am emergency services rushed to Sonning where a man's body was found in water.

Officers from Thames Valley Police with support from Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service, recovered the body.

Chief Inspector Rob Platt, said: “Sadly we have today discovered the body of a man.

“From our enquiries we believe the man recovered from the water is missing person Daniel, aged 39, who went missing from the Caversham area of Reading in the early hours of Monday, March 4.

“Daniel's next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers."

A day later, police were called to a similar incident in Bray Marina.

At around 1pm on Sunday, April 21, police and fire services attended the scene and recovered a 65-year-old man's body.

Local Policing Area Commander for Windsor and Maidenhead, Superintendent Clare Knibbs, said: “Sadly we have recovered a body from the River Thames, with the help of Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service and Berkshire Lowland Search and Rescue.

“From our initial enquiries, we are confident that the man is missing person Jonathan, aged 65, who went missing from the Windsor area on March 18 this year."

Both incidents are "not being treated as suspicious" and files are being prepared for the coroner.
