The colourful public toilet in Woodley town centre has been out of order for days on end.
The public facilities at the end of Woodley precinct have been out of order since Friday, April 12, and remains closed.
Woodley Town Council has apologised for the inconvenience caused.
In the meantime, shoppers and visitors to the town centre can use the public toilets in the Oakwood Centre, Woodley Library, Woodley Centre Surgery and the Crumbs coffee shop in the Library Parade.
Explaining the reason for the toilet closure, the town clerk said: "There was a problem with the door access system. We are awaiting a part and should have the unit returned to use shortly."
The toilet facilities were installed in February 2019 after years of delays. The project for the public conveniences were approved by Wokingham Borough Council in March 2017.
However, the block was installed just under two years later as the project required planning approval, connection to the sewage system, and a road closure to facilitate its installation.
It is understood that a part needs to be replaced so that the toilet can function properly.
